Remember to Remember!
Happy Memorial Day to all!
May it be a truly blessed day appreciating the amazing country we get to call home, the United States of America (as an immigrant I am so grateful to be able to say those words when speaking of my country) and honoring the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives to allow us to live in safety and freedom.
Originally called Decoration Day, from the early tradition of decorating graves with flowers, wreaths and flags, Memorial Day is a day of remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. It was first widely observed on May 30, 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War solders.
We are honored to acknowledge all military active duty members, their families and veterans.
In our 24 yrs in the US NAVY, in various ways we have had to face the grief of loss of loved ones during military service. For example, I will never forget the time while living in Virginia Beach, I went to visit my a close friend whose husband was a Navy SEAL and her opening the door in tears of complete despair sharing with me the news no wife would ever want to hear. She had a 2 year old daughter and just had another baby daughter all on her own with her husband on a deployment. She was really excited to have him see the new baby only to learn that he was not returning …. 😭. I know many of you share similar experiences, having either served, or supported someone who has, or is serving.
Dr. Curtis Gaball is a US NAVY Captain and we honor him for his service and contribution to ensuring that gift that this country can be to the world endures, allowing us to enjoy a land in which we can each flourish in our own unique ways.
Our Registered Dental Assistant, Beth also has two sons, Brandon and Curtis Cho who are in the military - we are very proud of them and what they have chosen to do with their lives as well.
In celebration of this day we have decided to partner and support a local small business owner Herman with Monster Squad Personal Training in Del Mar, CA. We had a very challenging military inspired work out!!! 😥🏋🏻♀️😥🏋🏻😥

“We do not know one promise these men made, one pledge they gave, one word they spoke; but we do know they summed up and perfected, by one supreme act, the highest virtues of men an citizens. For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.”
- James A. Garfield, May 30, 1886, Arlington National Cemetery
